Placing Targi infront or own Targi

Post by moyye »

Hey. Not completely sure about the rules. But I think that you're not aloud to place a Targi figure across from your own aswell as not across from the other player. It has been valid a move to make in the game so far. Could you fix this? :?:

I think your own meeple may be placed across from your own meeple. I'm going to tell you why I think this instead of just asserting it. The source for my belief is the rulebook that is (currently) the top link under "Game rules" on the BGA Targi page. The rules state:
Meeples may not be placed:
  • where the robber is
  • where another meeple is
  • on the corner raid spaces
  • on a space directly opposite from an opponent's meeple (along the opposite track)
Across from the opponent's meeple is specifically excluded. Across from your own is not.

Official Thames Kosmos rules (https://thamesandkosmos.com/manuals/ful ... Manual.pdf) say the same. You are allowed to place a Targi opposite your own Targi, you're just missing out on a second crossover point by doing so.
