Player Notes

Post by AdamComic »

We can make little notes about players to remind ourselves of issues with any certain player, but we only see the notes after the game is played. We could click on each player profile before agreeing to start a game, so we could see if we had made any notes on them, but that would delay the games something awful.
How about some sort of icon that would show near a players avatar or name, that would let us know we had made a note on them? We would see it, maybe hover over it to see the note, so we could play the game having that note fresh in our mind. In Hearts, for instance, if we made a note that a certain player never covers their pass, it would be helpful to have that info before the game commences.

If you had some issues with someone and don't want to play with them again (this is what your message sounds like to me), you can just give them a personal red thumb in their profile.

Cigma, it's not about not wanting to play them again, it's about benefitting from notes we made on how they play. That info could help us beat them, if we had easy access to it before the game started.

If it's a player you play regularly, you get to know their playing styles. Besides, playing styles can change over time and then your note is worthless.

I use the notes to.describe why I red thumbed someone. I wouldn't bother noting down any other information than that.

This is a silly point. Regardless of why someone wants to take notes on another player, it seems reasonable for those notes to be easily visible before a game starts from the lobby.

New on the forum, don't really know how it works. How do I show support for this, as this is a feature I would really like and I feel can't be that complicated to implement.

Why would having it before the game started impact your ability to beat them? The only thing you do before the game is determine if you play them or not. You just check the info when the game begins.

Edit: Seems someone else recently necro bumped this, so I doubt the OP will be replying anytime soon.
