It's hidden trackable information. Players can re/gain the information by plowing through the game log, so the only apparent function of "hiding" it seems to be the inconveniencing of both players. If someone doesn't for the sake of play speed politeness, an opponent who does is at an advantage.

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
You can reserve a card blind from the deck. In that case, it shouldn't be visible.
You can look through the replay log to see what your opponent reserved. For some reason, that doesn't work on mobile.
The reserved cards probably should be visible if they were visible when they were reserved.

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
The rules state:
"You cannot have more than 3 reserved cards. Keep your reserved cards secret from
your opponent (either facedown in front of you, or in your hand). You may look at your
reserved cards at any time."

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
That is meaningful in a face to face game during which a person needs excellent memory or a notepad. It is not meaningful in a digital game in which the game log is available to everyone. Functionally, it only rates to slow down the game while hiding nothing.grobidanth wrote: ↑04 April 2024, 18:35 The rules state:

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
To keep the spirit of the rules, wouldn't it be best to simply change the log, so that it doesn't show information about the reserved card?
Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
Showing resereved cards: Maybe against the "spirit" of the game? In real life, no notes will be taken, the person with the best memory/paying more attention will have an advantage. Online: the person who wastes the most time (look trough the log or takes notes when log doesn't show) has an advantage. So my conclusion: to make the game more honest and easy going, please, pretty please, make reserved cards visible as suggested.
Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
You can view reserved cards on desktop but not on mobile. This is really annoying when a row 3 card is reserved (which could be important to the game) and I have to wait until I have access to my desktop again to take my turn. If you can see what they took on desktop you should be able to see it on the mobile app as well, its only fair. Is there any bounty for fixes like this? I would pay $$$ to have this most annoying issue addressed.

Re: Suggestion: show reserved cards
This seems like a good optional feature when creating a table.
Removing it from the log adds another complication: suppose you're playing asynchronously. When you sign in to take my turn, you can see that your opponent took a gold token and reserved a card, but you didn't watch them pick it up. You need to be able to view it at that moment, to mimic real-life play.
