Auto-advance button?

How does the auto-advance button work? I can't find any documentation on that.

I'm assuming you're talking about the button that automatically converts gold into hammer steps.

Basically each and every single bit of gold you earn after you trigger the button is automatically converted into hammer steps. Once you turn off the button, you're given the choice between gold and hammer steps each time you earn gold.

However if the side that you roll gives you a choice (VP, sunshard, etc.) it will still ask you
