In general, it is worrisome and upsetting that you alone can decide what to change in the client (including breaking the game rules) without vetting from community / site owners, especially taking pushing for controversial cheatbot P* into account.
Agreed this change is against the rules. It doesn't come to play often, but it is still not right.

Agreed this change is against the rules. It doesn't come to play often, but it is still not right.
While the change bans an action that's technically allowed in the rules, in an internet competition arena, making a rule tweak to make it slightly harder to kingmake while having almost no legitimate impact on any situations that apply in real games (needing to feed someone slightly more money to enable them to buy something which would be beneficial for you if they did).

Setting aside the question of correctness, the question of what is best for the ability of the players to enjoy their games feels like the more important consideration in this situation.
