New undo system test on production.

Post by Lunalol »

Hi to all.

A few days ago, I tried to deploy the new undo system. It was a carnage on the advanced games which had too much log.

To prevent this from happening again, I would like some voluntary tables to try out the new system in production (therefore not in ALPHA), preferably advanced games. If you are afraid of losing your game, you can save it first (at worst, you will lose some of the logs).

That volunteers register their table numbers in this forum.

Thanks to all.

How high is the chance of losing the table completely? I would be fine to go through the recent experience where we simply have to stop and log an error and wait for you to manually fix it, but having the game completely implode and lose it would be too much.

Anyway, I've put a link to this thread into my longer running games as it would require agreement from everyone at the table, not something I can just volunteer people for.

In theory, there is no more risk than two days ago.
Like I said, you can save game on your computer every days to be sure.
Load game for two or three players is not implemented but if such table is totally destroyed I can restore game with saved file.

In fact, if some of you have time:
- Take a table with complex situation and a big log (it can be a table where you are just spectator)
- Save game on your computer from this table
- Create a game with only one player (so you) and load saved game (refresh page if you have plenty of red error msg)
- Give me table number (solo one), so I will activate new undo system on it.
- Test table

I have to do that if I don't want to have potentially plenty of bug reports.

Thanks, I have added your table in list of ones for testing.
Warning: (like said in an older post), with new undo system, if it's a solo game, you can undo ALL (even bad dice rolls).

I have still not been able to find the save option, would someone who can be able to post a screen shot... clearly I'm not good at hunting out the location of controls.
