Rules on when you can play

Post by davidr0607 »

My understanding is that, in the proper game, if a rule card like "Mystery Play" that allows you to do something extra during your turn, it has to be done BEFORE your last play. It is not set up this way on here. Can someone who knows (No "I think it ....") clarify this?

Can answer my own question based on the FAQ on Looney Labs website:

"Is it possible to use Get On With It if the rules are only Play 1?
… The wording “final play” makes it seem as if there’s more than one play needed….

A: If you have only one Play (or only one card to play, even if the rules allow more) then that one card would be both your first and your final play. So yes, there IS a final play, even if you’d only be playing one card.

So, in order to use Get On With It, you’d have to do it before your final play, i.e. before your ONLY play. You’d just not take your Play for that turn, and do Get On With It instead."

So the game on here is wrong. Will post this is the bugs

That is true for Get On With It which is stated on the card that you can use the action before your final play. However for Mystery Play no such condition is stated on the card and because it is a free action you are able to take that action for free during your turn. On the Looney Labs website they say a player can take free actions before drawing cards to until they have taken all actions and free actions or decide to end their turn ( https://faq.looneylabs.com/question/288 ).
