How to Remove ELO From My Experience

This player clearly stated he wanted the same competitive experience, but without the Elo visible. It's not at all equivalent to training mode.
A valid answer was "sorry you just have training mode for now, we won't provide your feature".

I don't want to know about it and I don't care to play with players who care about that. I have absolutely no interest in playing competitively or with people who care about such things.

You're wrong. You can stop being horrified on someone else's behalf. Training mode is the perfect answer for him.

while retaining the same meaning, would have been so much nicer to read (and actually, if you think about it, they would probably also have been nicer for you to write).

It is my understanding that by choosing training mode, I would effectively remove a huge portion of potentials players from my options for opponents. If this is the case, it is not a suitable substitution for removing references to ELO.

I have rather good experiences in finding opponents when choosing training mode and playing turnbased games.
Also for not so popular games like Senet or KoiKoi-Rainvariant.
(Although I didn't started this kind of games lately after introduction of Arena Mode).
