Board Game Arena

Im new to the site. Do i need to do anything to take part in the Season or just play any of the games i want and it adds it up?

thank you for your work. But why have you spent the arena mode of 7 wonders from 4 to 3 players, it makes you lose all the strategic interest of the game, it's really a shame.

Hi first time poster,

I reached Elite for Carcassonne in season 0 and was very happy with the format as it mirrors the format used at National and World Championships. Why was it changed for this season to include expansions? This is a major step backward for the competitive scene of this game. I implore you to consider undoing this change as I personally will avoid arena this entire season as because of the format and I am sure the same can be said about hundreds of other high level competitors.

It make the game less enjoyable because it miss one strategic factor crucial to the game, the management of resources ! With 3 players you always get what you want easily, it's only battle for the points.. And the age 1 is way less fun..

This was a result of 7-page discussions, I've given a link to them in a previous post in "the same thread". And it will switch back next season, Please read the thread you're posting before replying. It makes no sense to ask about a question that's already been answered unless you've already acknowledged the answer and want to add more information.

All the 7Wonders 3p fans had to wait for 3 months. In the same way, now the 4p fans just have to wait for next season. If in the long run the statistics show that 4p is much more popular, then I'd have no problem if 3p Arena appears only once a year or has to be abandoned. But that remains to be seen.

GENERAL HINT: Please keep the game configuration discussions in the dedicated game forums, it makes them much easier to follow.

Does this mean that if I enter Arena mode for Race For The Galaxy, I will still be expected to know how to play with all the expansions?

nmego, the 7 page discussion about 7 Wonders you keep referring to was basically two people going on about how the top players (i.e. they) rate the 3 player version. Sorry, but you got this one wrong, noone else likes it. I will stick with it for a while but I find it really dull compared to 4 player. I suppose I am not professional enough.

There were at least 11 people present in the discussion (With the majority preferring 3P) Most of them being in the very top.

The statement "noone else likes it" is not only obviously false but also you gave no evidence supporting it. Also you said you find it very dull, but you didn't say why, this was repeated multiple times across this thread, no one explaining why they don't like the 3p and vastly prefer the 4p to it. An the end we both didn't learn anything, what if you have a viewpoint that we all couldn't see, what if there's a logical and good reason why 4p is a good format. It is only fair for 3p to have their turn after they have waited 3 months, but more discussion based on logic and facts could be beneficial for both of us.

Edit: If so, might as well discuss this topic further on the 7wonders forum to avoid further confusion.

What about a poll for next season?

I agree that 7 wonders is far less fun with 3, I'd even prefer it at 5 to 4. At any rate, I had played a bunch of arena mode for it, but I will not be playing anymore unless it goes back to 4 player.
