Why is the strategic variant not an option ? I really think it diminish the chance part of the game by allowing you to build a strategy not based on luck.

Thank you for taking the high ground when a vocal minority cry out when things don't go their way. A vote is a fair way to hear people's opinions & as you can see from the numbers playing this in the arena, the original choice you made wasn't a bad one.

I would like traders and builders and the dragon, there is a lot of change with those two expansions. And maybe the double tile set, to make the game longer if people want to.

Standard version without expansions is widely recognized format used in National and World Championship tournaments held every year. This is also the most common (almost only) format for the competitive tournaments held on BGA. That would be also a pity if reigning champion could not defend the title in the same format. It clearly should remain as base format for Arena.

However, if we are indeed have so many players willing to play the rank games with expansions or in expert mode (3 tiles), maybe there is a chance to create the second, simultanous Arena ranking in such format? There is a small community playing all expansions and expert mode tournaments, so maybe that format to distinguish it from standard mode as much as possible?

Or maybe even 4-players mode? (Carcassonne is so much different when played in 4 players)

If the rules for the river were implemented correctly, then it would have my vote. But no.

Also, when can I be pink.

My personal opinion is actually that full expansions + strategic version is the least luck version of carcassonne :D
I completely agree with that, it is clearly the best option to reduce luck and to enjoy the game properly in my opinion.

The expansions make the game even more strategic and fun. I would hate to see them go. Instead, It would be nice to see other expansions such as the Dragon and the Princess, or The Tower expansion.

I voted for Basic Carcassonne.
Anyway, i would be happy to play the River in arena mode but with 3 players!
With 2 players only, the basic version remains the only that I've considered so far.

I'm top 10 players in season 0. Just wanna know how many daily games are made in arena season 1 compared to season 0. For me, I don't play arena anymore at this time.
