No specific timeframe, we are relying on volunteer developers and on the community for playtesting games, so it depends on too many factors to be predictable (also, every game is different, of course). You can read about the process in the pinned posts on the "Alpha games" and "Beta games" forums.

If I'm allowed in the playtest group, can I host a table for the rest of my friends so we can play with 6?

Sure, but your friends need to join this group as well. Just let me know their usernames and I i will add them if you wish.
