It's just me having problems with the new Carcassonne graphics?
I can't making distinction between colours and shapes and my game is now slow and unpleasant... :o
Please, tell me I'm not the only one!

Thank you! ;)
You can switch to the old graphics from your options ;)

Only suggestion is, during another player's turn, when you're trying out places for a tile, whenever you click a new location the tile is animated as coming from the top-right corner of the screen, which is a bit jarring. It'd be better if there was no animation if the tile is already placed or if it was animated as coming from the previous location.

I totally hate the garish colors and scrawly roads, but that's how the game is sold for a few years. Good thing you can revert to the Doris Matthäus graphics, but some might love the new ones.

If it's a solace: it could be worse. Last year I bought the Asmodee version for PC (before I learned of BGA), and they don't just use the new graphics, but they animate them, too. That's so distracting, I played it a few times and then wrote it off as a learning fee.

The new Anne Pätzke graphics contain the gardens for the abbot mini extension. So, if new extensions are coming, this one might come, too, and then you can't use the Matthäus-tiles (or they need to be modified, which might cause copyright issues).

What do I like about the update? Best: the game finally knows where you can put a tile and where you can't. The tooltip about the region where a meeple will be placed might be handy with extensions; I think I don't need it in basic games. Placing a tile while it's not your turn, hm, might be helpful sometimes. Princess and Dragon? Never played it...

I still miss the undo function after you "confirmed" the placement of a tile. Sometimes, you place a tile and only then you see that you can't put your meeple on the place you want, because it's already occupied around 10 corners. At that point, I don't know the tile I'll be getting next, so this undo wouldn't let me cheat. And I miss the option to place the top bar (showing the current player) to the right side; it costs valuable real estate on the screen. The mix of game history and friend login/logouts is distracting, too. But I don't know if it can be done better.
