@ Tisaac: I think that now I understood, because you explained it better. Thanks. I think I was hoping BGA could change someone's ELO, in certain situations like this, without affecting the other ELOs of the players in that game. I didn't know it is a more complicated mechanism that cannot be changed, under no circumstance.

@ Phulin: I didn't state those 2 SHOULD keep their ELO, just that they COULD (CAN), I don't care about that, just hoped I could get my ELO back, without completely understanding yet, how ELO works.
If I could only get my ELO back if they lose theirs, I would find that fair. But I understand it is impossible or too much nuisance for the team, so I said I don't expect it back, and it's OK, but wish the situation not to be repeated.

Based on what you say, perhaps you should somehow go to 0 in SENET (just like that), and see how easily you will get ELO back.

Yes... I don't think it is ok to criticise someone for being upset and complaining, after being unfairly taken ELO, seeing the original poster had this issue as well, not too far ago, in last system crash (10 days ago, I presume), and now the same thing repeating. So BGA would not only change some rules for just 1 player ;)

So perhaps the site should do something to make this thing not repeat, instead of telling people not to be upset, cause they didn't lose too much ELO, or other stuff from the excuses you thought to write.

And also... The 33 in Tokaido is hardly "meaningless", and it certainly can't be brought back with just 1 win, unless you win against 1000 ELO people, in a parallel universe.
I think i could have even been in top 20 or something, same thing happening and you would have still found some Disney arguments to minimise the complaints :)

You know what's unfair? Me being unfairly taken ELO (doesn't matter how much, or the ranking), and other people unfairly getting my ELO as a result of a crash the system had, a situation the team finds too big of a deal to repair or to prevent from repeating. Also, i find it unfair to call unfair someone who is showing displease with this by replying to a person who has also dealt with this and asked if anyone else experienced this.

I understand it may be impossible for BGA team to do something now, if the mechanism is too complex, beyond their power, and I hope this thing will somehow never happen again.

I said I will drop this, Merry Christmas.

This point is quite moot. Even the unaltered rating system suffers from Elo creep.

BGA's ELO rating system started by giving any and all existing players a +200 rating boost in addition to removing ELO loss between the rating ranges of 0-100.
