I agree with galehar's sentiments here. When playing in person, it's not unreasonable to make a vague plan for your deck and remember what's important within the five cards you don't see in your opening hand. When juggling multiple games that span several days or weeks here on BGA (as many of us do), it's not realistic, and players are going to end up taking notes or screenshots anyway to get around it.

I think a reasonable compromise would be a toggle-able option, so that live games or others who want to play with the fixed ruleset can keep players' decks hidden, but those who want the option to be able to "catch up" to their games' state have that choice as well.

The rules doesn't forbid you to write the content of the deck on a paper.

That is not really an argument. Rules generally do not explicitly outline everything that isn't allowed.

Anyway, I wholly agree that the deck should be visible just for the improved playability of turn-based games.
Any assistance benefit that would impart would be negligible for anyone other than novice players.

Yes, you can. But that's arguably cheating, same as taking notes, or using an external tool to help you during gameplay.
There was a lot of debates in 7 Wonder on a similar subject, and using external tools (including screenshots) to remember the hand you pass to other peoples while drafting is considered cheating by the (EDIT: part of the) community.

I'm in favour of seeing the deck content (and would allow it IRL if you reshuffle after), but IMO that's only fair if that's a known possibility by all the players. [EDIT: so yes, if you message them to say that you're taking a screenshot of your hand and they agree, no problem in my book]

I do not care about the debates that may have been about a game I don't play.

I mainly play turn by turn, game mode that allows to play simultaneously a large number of games, and some players to abuse their allocated time.

Under these conditions, with some games, taking notes on the progress of the game is an absolute necessity for a game to retain any interest. So I do it systematically, and I expect my opponents to do it.
So, of course, that’s not cheating. You’re free not to join my games, but if you claim I’m cheating, I’ll say you’re full of nonsense.
