My final thoughts on what you need as a basic understanding of the rules, covering diplomacy and strategic warfare. Think about what I will do next.

Excellent videos. Thank you!

Okay, so my initial thought was that after doing walkthroughs of the training scenarios I could commentate on games. However, that was when I realised almost all of the game logs are missing or truncated (do up vote this suggestion for the site to fix it
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=35939 as its not something that can be done by the developers of this game) and that wasn't really possible. So instead here is a video about the really basic end of probability calculation - not sure how good a job I've done of explaining this but its the single most important tactical element in a hex and counter wargame so it seemed like the logical place to start.

Speaking of probability, for those who own the game for real:

So, I realised I've done one of these a week for over a month, and they won't keep coming at that rate. The deeper you dive the harder it becomes to marshal your thoughts on tactics and strategy (and of course the less qualified to do so I will be), so it will be a few weeks before I do another, but I didn't want to stop without covering the most common error in the game, the supply traps:

These videos are very good and address some issues not covered in other videos (found on Board Game Geek or YouTube) or are unique to the BGA version of the game. They do a great job showing the mechanics of the BGA version, of concepts and tactics to improve play, and explaining what is involved in playing a hex-and-counter wargame.

A video covering Conditional Events and Diplomacy would be helpful. Especially the former because timing the consequences of something like West Invaded is part of what the Axis player needs to consider.

Unfortunately Conditional Events are very much still something that catches me off-guard, but I am beginning to prepare notes on it. I think an outline of how the three major decisions the Axis make shape the opening and how this relates to the end-game are a key thing... my thinking at the moment is that I still need to cover Markov processes as a follow-up to the d6 probability and the tactical play of the diplomacy cup as a preparation for that.

So I'm definitely moving onto a monthly schedule for this and I'm doing some Carcassonne videos so it will take me a while to get there. My plan at the moment is to cover the diplomacy cup next, which lays some ground work, and then to cover the 'big picture' looking at the decisions that shape the game (East/West, number of conquest, the invasion triggers, USA entry, and the Allies invasion plans). Whether I cover the endgame before or after is something I'm still mulling over.
In the meantime, here is a video, covering Markov processes, which are one of the basic probability tools for d6 wargames, and since its an obvious place to go with it some thoughts on strategic warfare...
