Hello!
I am currently running a tournament where stage 1 are 2 groups of round robin and stage 2 a single elimination bracket.
https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=86057
The way the players got seeded into the bracket are as follows:
B1
A4
A3
A2
A1
B4
B2
B3
where A and B are the groups from stage 1 and the numbers correspond to their position from stage 1.
The "standard" way to seed the players would allow every player to play against a player from the other group.
Keep up the good work!

I have tried but could not find a way to create a Group Stage Tournament mode, is it a specific Reviewer group?

I am wondering how players is allocated to different groups in group stage. Is it seeded based on ELO or is it random draw or something else?

Would it be possible to anonymise players in games in tournaments? Like everyone is Player A, Player B etc during the game, but it shows the names once the game is complete?

As far as I can tell, the players are placed into the groups according to their ELO ratings at the start of the tournament. So for example, if you have 4 groups, the players #1,5,9,13,.... are put into group A, players #2,6,10,14,... in group B and so on.

If what you say are right, I prefer the players #1,8,9,16,.... are put into group A, players #2,7,10,15,... in group B, players #3,6,11,14,... in group C and players #4,5,12,13,... in group D. The strength of each group is more balance and it is more fair.

Is it possible to allow for the setting of number of groups in the first stage to be "1"?
With this setting we could create tournaments like a swiss system (with all players in 1 goup), followed by a single elimination bracket.

thank you so much! This is the type of tournament I've wanted on this site for years...so glad to finally see it happening! I'm happy to create some test tournaments.
