I agree with this, would love to see this option as well. Even as an experienced player I like to play to 7-800 points sometimes.

Oh god, You have to reach 2000 points in the Arena Mode. The game can take significantly longer than 2 hours. It's really way too long... My first game was canceled after 1,5 hours because it took too long.

Yeah, Tichu is one of those games in which the players are very used to having things exactly as they expect. Makes it difficult for a developer, I imagine. I have some sympathy for each side; minor changes in layout/timing/etc. seem more disorienting in Tichu than in most games. Might have something to do with the initial learning curve's being pretty steep.
