Is it really someone's else account?
Many websites consider someone able to read a confirmation email being the owner of the account.

People have to create account with their own email if they want to be sure to keep it.

Nothing illegal.

I meant "people in the future" may get an idea from this, when they gain access to an e-mail account. Say if you forget to log out of your mailaccount at a school computer, or if someone is able to grab your unlocked phone and gain access to your mails.

Yes, you are correct, it is the account of whoever owns the e-mail...untill… said person clearly announces the account belonging to someone else… like an ex-gf.

That is like a parent creating an account for their child. Who owns the account, the parent or the child? Who should have say over deletion of the account?
It would not be right if the parent declares on the forum that the account is the child's, and then the same parent promptly deletes the account. Would this be fair to the child (again, if the account were active)?

If a person accepts using the e-mail of another person, for his/her account (in this case, girlfriend had an account, with boyfriend's e-mail), that person should be aware that there is a risk the person owning the e-mail might delete his/her account...

I think that when they broke up, she should have discussed with him about changing the e-mail associated to her account, if she cared so much for the account. Reading that that account was not used or inactive or whatever, I don't think it was such a big issue for her, and the OP simply wanted to delete that account, after the breakup (but didn't have the password, and didn't think about resetting it via his e-mail).

Also... in your situation with the parent and child... I think there are more details which should be mentioned... IMO, if the child is under 18 years old, and he/she agrees from the start that the parent has access to the e-mail, then IMO, it is the same situation, if for some reasons, the parent thinks the account should be deleted (addiction to online gaming, etc.).
But nowadays, i think most of the children have their own e-mails with full access to them, and can make accounts very well, on their own, with 0 issues or consequences.

I don't see anything too bad about this post, except the fact he (the OP) should have thought about dealing with the password change, or about talking to the administrators, in the first place.

But I see no reason to get him banned, as you suggested, sorry.

And no reason to take this to "ex girlfriend and not current one", "im*a*ure" type of shades, just 'cause you disapprove of this.

People, I tried to contact all the staff privately. I tried to contact you with the Help section, and all the options goes to /dev/null. What I had to do?

I said my ex because I think it changed the mail for revenge. But maybe I'm paranoid and I created myself her account

About bad example, you are doing bad examples. I had the mail and I reset the password. Point. I never said nothing more. You're suggesting a lot of bad practices, not me.

I think there's much ado for nothing
