Not sure this fits with the discussion, but my question is: after triggering a re-play of a game (from a recent point, say), is it possible to pause the re-play (goes so fast I usually can't see the information I was trying to get - which doesn't always show up in the log)? If so, how?

Thanks!

Thanks for the tips! I wish there were a way to have a per-tab zoom setting. Some games allow it, but others I can only use Ctrl-+ in the browser, which affects ALL tabs for BGA in Firefox.

Also, I wish alpha games properly gave you the notification bar.

I love BGA but I gotta tell you the experience is poor on an iPad with Safari. It continues to be a source of frustration for me.

My wife uses an iPad, and as far as we know there is no equivalent to hover there. Is this true? Is there a way to get the equivalent behavior on an iPad or other similar device?
On my Galaxy if you tap and hold on the area you'd usually mouseover you can get a popup to display the info. Works 99% of the time.

Thanks - she'll try that.

Out of curiosity, what’s the genesis of the Edge browser statement? Since both are up to date on Chromium? Is that statement due to testing?

Exactly right. Many devices, especially tablets and some phones, are not easy to upgrade.

The whole of the first point could be ignored completely by users if BGA developers would just write code with regard to compatibility instead of using new programming constructs that break older browsers.

The whole of the "tournaments" listing page is now completely non-functional on my laptop browser. Why? When I look on another device, it doesn't seem to do anything different to what it used to do. It doesn't look any different. It's just been broken by someone who's changed some code completely unnecessarily without any care for compatibility or consistency.

With this, why is "Please remember me" still the default setting for the login screen, instead of unchecked by default? I only have to check it once on a device I own, but need to remember to make sure it gets unchecked every single time I log in on a device I don't control?

But the existence of mobile Safari (as noted, all iOS browsers actually mobile Safari) means that developers have to spend their time working around its various bugs and incompatibilities instead of any other improvements.

Apple could easily create a browser that conformed to current standards and didn't have all those annoying, time consuming (for developers) bugs. What's most annoying and harmful to the web, though, is that they don't do that AND they block the other browsers on iOS.

Yes, BGA can't (and didn't) ask its user to buy new devices, but that doesn't mean they can't make people aware of the problem - one thing for people to consider next time they upgrade. Isn't it OK for developers to make their users aware of the issues they face, and to give just a little push back when a powerful corporation intentionally undermines the only public platform we have?
