Yup, nothing wrong with the word "damn" itself, but rather whom it is directed to.

'Damn you' is obviously no good, and 'Damn it' refers often to some kind of deity, which is also a difficult situation not to offend anyone. But you can damn yourself. I prefer "Dang", "Dangit" or "Darn". But it might sound better for me personally as English isn't my native language.

No one would report your "Damn" if the context is clear, but if it isn't clear, be careful with it.

I am currently in a turn based game with an Asian player named 'Wang Yun', yet everytime someone says 'Wang' in chat, the censor pops up.

And in Dutch the word "wang" stands for a common body part of every human that is more innocent than "willy." The English translation for the Dutch word "wang" is "cheek."
