What happens when I remove someone as a friend? Do they get a notification? Do I disappear from their friends list?

I don't want to keep a list of friends. I don't want to get notifications, I don't want a social network. But I'm ok if someone wants to add me to their list for whatever reason. When I get a friend request, are my only options to reject or ignore the request? If I reject it, I'll be seen as rude, if I ignore it I'll have the request nagging me forever.

If you remove someone as a friend, they will not receive a notification and you will simply disappear from their friends list.

Likewise, if you reject a friend request, no notification is sent to the requesting user.
