Arena season 8: let's go again !

Wasn't there meant to be a big announcement about tournaments that never came?

Aside to Arena, I would love to see a giant swiss based tournament for each game, each season. The follow up would be that the top 8 all play a single-elimination to decide a winner.

Per season, you could perhaps do 1 turn-based version and possibly a series of smaller real-time ones for different time-zones.

Call in the Arena Cup or something.

I notice some games have more leagues this season and some have fewer. It seems like they’re trying to make it roughly equally hard to get to Elite in every game, recognising that (for example) it’s harder to win at a 4 player game than a 2 player one.

Now my question is - what’s the rule they’re working to?

It looks like they want at least half the players who progress beyond Bronze to make it to Elite, but I’d be interested in anyone who knows the answer!

The number of leagues thus lost shows isn't right for lots of games for example Butterfly, Abandon All Artichokes, Draftosaurus

Basically, we are trying to make sure it is "not too easy / not too hard" to become Elite for a game. So the main statistic we are using for this is the % of players who managed to be Elite on previous season.

Can admins make it a point to announce arena seasons in the news section? I had no idea the new arena season started. I had to go searching for info because I hadn't seen anything.
