This is a great implementation and very thankful the developer changed it from 1-4 to 1-10 players during beta. We normally have 5 or 6 for our BGA game night, and this has become one of our go-to filler games. I have sheets of the similar Extra! game laminated and we use to play that a lot pre-COVID as well. I slightly prefer the Extra! sheet layout (one less box to get out of -200 for 2,3,11,12; one more box for 6,7,8; one 5th die row has one more box, one 5th die row has one less box), but it's minor.

As to the 5th die selection, the rules as written here may be incorrect then. The implementation is how I have always played this and Extra!. You may continue to select a 5th die # you have already selected before you have selected a 3rd (or 2nd) 5th die #.

He is the father of modern board game with designs WAAAY ahead of their time. I read a book about him and one of the best games to play at a party is the "No" Game. Everyone has a pin of some kind when they arrive at the party and the rules are explained to them. You cannot say the word "No". You can say 'Nah", "Uh-uh", "Nope"...but not "No". If you say it and someone catches you (especially if they tried to trick you into saying it): you hand over your pin and all other pins. The person at the end of the party with the most pins wins a small prize.

That was the mindset of Mr. Sackson: easy rules but amazing interaction. Except Bazaar...I really love that game, but it makes my brain hurt! :D

To be honest, I don't like the express version very much... The regular version is way simpler and more fun!

I totally agree. To me, original Can't Stop is so much better than this version.

I always hate games that force you to do bad moves. In original Can't Stop, if you have a bad roll, at least it was your decision to take the roll. Here, if you have to start a new line in the last quarter of the game, it can break your whole game and you can't do anything about it.

Thank you for this tribute. I didn't know his story but Acquire was one of the first "real" games I learned and fell in love with.

Definitely Acquire deserves an online version! If possible with the 3M bookshelf game design ;)

I like this game very much! I've discovered it, like, yesterday, and I already played many games and reached a comfortable position in the ranking. I like both playing it and competing.
However, there's one thing that puzzles me. This game is fit for competition, and there is a big competitive rivalry. But then you have this player way atop the others. I noticed it, I thought, wow, that's neat, he must be a master of the game. Turns out, he just got 510 points at once after playing a game by himself, scoring 510. This seems very weird to me, I'm not convinced this is the proper way to handle elo for such games? And actually, I'm also simply not convinced one should be able to get points with 1p games - or otherwise, the leaderboard will end up completely filled with 1p players who will rank as high as how many games they played (provided they get positive scoring in average, but this is not a bold hypothesis at all, it's already the case among good players). - Or is the plan to let that happen and have the Arena instead reflect the actual level?

I grew up thinking games were like Monopoly, but, meeting my friend who collects them, and being led here, i see so many games. I have been exploring the games this man made and left us and, have come to learn games are so much more than dice, it is a way to connect and, awaken a new thought in all of us.

Sir, please, sleep well and sleep long, you left us so many things to play, a lifetime of love and, work.
