If Usain Bolt and me are running a race - and I am not as athletic as he is - and we end up tying at the finish line. Then Usain Bolt ran poorly that race, and I ran very well.

And if Usain Bolt and yourself run against two good athletes, he must win 100% of his races, and has no way to gain any elo.

Yeah, this is how it is done actually: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=11297 . Bga is actually counting the gain and loss of elo normally, as if you tied your partner, and in case it's negative (which show a problem on it), it put it back to 0.
I think I/We should try to find a solution to it, instead of just showing it's weakness. Feel free to comment on that bug post, not here :D
