Here the second bucket contains the most popular games.
https://boardgamearena.com/gamelist If you expand that, you see the current Top 20 games on the site (I think by aggregated playtime). I think they are sorted from top left to bottom right by popularity, so the top left ones (Azul and Carcasonne) should be most popular ones.
