Board Game Arena

I really dislike the strips of game rows on the games page. It is a very limiting screen design and makes for a slow interface to use.

I feel it is a design copied from streaming services such as Netflix or hulu. Those designs are in place to cover the fact that they don't have a lot of content. The previous design was very good because you could quickly scroll vertically and see many titles on screen at once instead of just two titles. I'm using mobile and have not tried on pc. But from my experience, I don't even want to scroll left to right to see what's in a list of games. I give up on looking because it is such a slow tedious process. Its not a good use of screen real estate and the game or box art is lost and all I can see is text. I'm sorry to complain because I know someone worked hard on it. I just find it unusable and a step backward in design and functionality.

IMHO, the new Games interface is two steps backward. Previously, you could see full titles, and game boxes. These are created by the manufacturer to sell the games, and give some "at a glance" impression of the game. Now, it's a nearly completely un-seeable graphic, and a few characters of a title. Previously, one could see a "top 4" then expand for many/all. Now, you just scroll through more abbreviations. The SELECTOR is arguably superior, but how the listing presentation got released as superior is confounding to me.

I was trying to go through all the games in alphabetical order.
I was working on the C's. I used to just type a C in the search window on the games screen, and then I could see all games starting with a C.
That search window has disappeared, and only the search at the top of the main page remains, but that only shows 6 results, not the whole list of C-games. Is there any other way now to find all the games starting with a specific letter?

There unfortuantly is literally 0pc chance of them reading this and reverting back they don't listen to any suggestions in tournaments either. It's literally like they don't care

Firstly, I greatly enjoy the enhanced filter options. That was definitely a functionality I had been looking for, and an all-around improvement.

However I dislike the new way that the games are presented on the page, looking at it from a PC/laptop perspective. I now see fewer games in the same amount of screen place, which means I need more clicks and have to spend more time browsing through the games. I primarily look at the box covers of a game to identify them, as it takes me longer to recognize a game by looking at a zoomed in image of a laid out game with text covering parts of it. This is a step back in functionality and UX design in my opinion. It feels like it is made for mobile phone users, and I find it less annoying when I'm on my phone, but then please also allow the old lay-out when I’m accessing the website through other means.

Perhaps simply magnifying the box covers would've been sufficient, and more visually appealing, from both a PC/laptop and phone point of view.

Unfortunately if the user has to search, we failed them with the UI. Most people want to browse a site and expect it to help them discover new things along with expected content. An immediate short-term fix would be to alpha-sort the lists -- that makes the list very predictable. The only time to break that rule is when a Top 5-10 list is presented, and that is because we're looking for top items. Even here, it fails. If I click to view the Most Popular I get 20 tiles in random order.

I'm sure they care -- it's very nice looking. The problem is that it isn't practical/usable. Someone presented a beautiful looking UI and forgot about usability.

As far as reverting back, who knows. Seems like a revert back, cleanup, and redeploy would be nice.

it's not working for me as well, i only get 6 results (missing games: chess, chinese checkers , china gold and so on ..)

You can still find them all with the search on the lobby page. Although that doesn't actually appear overly helpful as putting "C" into it gave me every game that had a C anywhere in its name.
