Yes, hence I think status quo is the best unless the publisher allows trackable information to be tracked in the game.

If I'm not mistaken, in Jaipur, log lines actually become invisible after a turn or 2, hence making it impossible to track solely based on the log lines. It might be possible to implement this for other games too. For turnbased games you should have all log lines visible from your previous turn (as you need to be able to recover what happened since you were gone) but they disappear once you take your turn. (Although those truly diligent in TB games can and in many cases will simply track everything every turn anyway)
