Don't hesitate to give public red thumb to these players.
If they have enough, their reputation will decrease, and we will be able to refuse them from our tables.

I have just come across one of these players- getting angry in the chat and then because I replied pleasantly, deliberately bombing. Also keeping me chatting and then attempting to expel me for time.

Moderators please include a method of reporting these kinds of players- it is unpleasant to play with them and ultimately will result in a loss of revenue for yourselves because players will stop subscribing as this site is designed for enjoyment, not for receiving insults and playing half games.

I have red-thumbed him too already. Just keep giving the red thumbs to quitters.

I already had him red thumbed, just keep giving RTs and your experience will improve

The moderators have decreed him ‘not guilty’ and his retaliation report of me has caused me to be moderated. I said in the chat he was a bad player, not due to skill but due to this deliberate destruction of the game.

Highly disappointed with the moderation team on this one- it’s sad that these people who manipulate have been able to continue and destroy the game for so many.

This kind of moderation is quite frustrating indeed. Giving constructive criticism is seen as offensive so you can't teach other players about better conventions or you risk being moderated...

What is there to be done about it? I’m really saddened by this experience

Just keep playing.
Fortunately, these players are not most people.

I'm pretty sure if the report declared the other person "not guilty", the other person wouldn't have been notified. In other words, a "report made in retaliation to your report" is only possible when they know you've reported—so that said, that meant they were planning to report you anyways after that chat.

I honestly don't know how much access mods have to or bother checking for the game replay logs of a reported table, so objectively speaking, unfortunately yes calling someone a bad player is still an insult, no matter how much of a basis the claim was made upon. If you really wanted to give constructive criticism in what BGA determines is a BGA-fitting-safe-and-friendly manner, just talk about the actions themselves and never the person behind the actions (like "Doing A instead of B would make more sense because [Reason1] and [Reason2]" instead of "You're crazy for doing B, that's a stupid move", etc)

Think about it, you'd feel insulted if someone called you a "bad player", regardless of the reason, especially if you thought you were on the "right" or "just" side. For people who are constantly looking for some sort of way to report other players that they don't agree with to reach mod eyes, "bad player" is a line that's just giving them exactly what they want and saying "please report me"—that goes both ways for those who hate the bombers and the bombers themselves. We take advantage of when bombers insult us to report them, after all, since there's no way to report them for bombing alone :S

BC oh em freaking gee, I hate it when they bomb, yeah, and I found out literally just now that I hate it even more when they're obviously trying to not get the Quit Game/Leave penalty AND dragging it out in hopes that I'll abandon if it becomes clear enough perfect 30/30 isn't possible and enough time has passed AND they're not talking because they know that'll give me a way to report them, but there's nothing to report if they don't talk.

This is the reason I will never ever pay a penny to buy membership
