Couldn't games be converted to normal game instead of training mode?

Very happy that all the number of player settings stayed the same for Catan, 7 wonders, 7WD and Splendor - this is the perfect configuration in my view for each of those games =)

i am not moving up despite winning games. am i doing something wrong?
i won two games in a row and still at 0 points in platinum league.
what do i need to do, if not win games?

You don't win points when winning against opponents more than two leagues lower than you. Since you're platinum, to win points, you should only play against silver league opponents, or higher. You can set this in the settings of the old lobby. I don't think those settings made it to the new lobby...

With so many Arena games going 2 player, looks like I will be going "No player".

Well that's great... Have played many games against Gold and below and won... only to get... nothing... then to lose 1 game against one of them and lose all of my Diamond > Elite progress... how does that make any sense? Seems overly punishing.

The Arena Prices (at the end) aren't transparant, I think.
With some games, Top 20 gets an Award and with some it's just Top 5. How does that work?

Well, you weren't sent to a lower league... So I wouldn't say overly punishing. Also, this is explained in details in the FAQ, specifically this point... That's up to you to decide whether you want ot play arena mode and abide by these rules, or if you find these rules not satisfying not to play arena mode. You can most probably find tournaments for the game you want to play if you're looking into competitive play.
