CAUTION dont play to this game!
its give u a time penality every time u play and its destroy your stats in few days.
i got 5 time penality just becouse u have few seconds for choose a cards and after that the game stucks.. u have to refresh the page and after that the time is OVER and u "win" a time penality!!!!
play only with ELO OFF.

Well, the ELO leader for Thermopyles wins 25 times over 86 games, so there is a trick

I just won 2 of my first 5. The trick is that hand card limit doesn't work, so there's no reason not to retreat immediately to 6.

Doesn't seem like a trick to me, rather an exploit which is why i suggests resetting all players ELO rating once the bugs are ironed out. This suggestion goes for all games. Lost a few games this way. it's frustrating seeing people using exploits rather than playing honestly.
