If I was a moderator, you would have climbed the ladder a few more steps with using the word Gestapo...

This post has walked the line on our policy on the Forum rule of not challenging a moderation. The initial conversation about the possibility of a filter is a topic related to, but not challenging, the moderation, so we let it stand for the conversation on this matter to progress.

However, the more recent comments have been increasingly aggressive in their tone against our moderator team and other commenters.

Actually, the moderator followed the Moderation Chart exactly, as you can see in our Moderation Penalty Grid where Level 1 is defined as "Little Provocation, swearing without personal attack, obvious sarcasm" and constitutes a -10 Karma penalty.

Additionally, this comment constitutes using the Forum to challenge your personal moderation rather than to hold a general discussion on the topic of a chat filter, which is explicitly prohibited and can lead to a 10 day ban.

This is an unnecessarily aggressive retort against a player who is contributing to the discussion you started.


Please continue any discussions about the possible Forum filters without returning to aggressive comments and challenging your personal moderations. This serves as a final warning on this subject before we apply the appropriate penalty according to our policies.

About the filter list, I remember a bug report.
The word "end" in Sweddish, which is a very common word, is actually auto moderate in the chat, because it means a very different thing in English.

You may encounter other cases like this with an auto filtering system.

Also, as a developer, I’m pretty sure the forum is a built-in system tuned and integrate into BGA's site (because it's pretty much the same as many forums you can find on the web).
It's mean that it can be customized, but not modified as easy as the rest of the website.



Thank you for explaining how you moderate (sure It's time consuming). I think this is clearer than the FAQ, both for the player in question and for everyone else.
Also, such transparency eventually defuses some endless debates.
