Regarding private red thumbs, it is true that they do not directly affect the recipient's karma. However, it's important to recognize that the lack of restriction on public red thumbs raises concerns about their potential misuse and the impact on player experiences. Without any validation or requirement for proof, there is a risk that players may use private red thumbs purely out of spite or without justified reasons.
Private red thumbs are private and are pretty much just stating that a player does not wish to play against another player again, for whatever reason it doesn’t matter. The private red thumb doesn’t affect the player receiving it in any way and thus can’t be misused. I’ve given private red thumbs to many people who I just didn’t enjoy their play style/strategy simply because it wasn’t fun for me. I have the right to choose who I play with in this way, often I’ll write a note on that player for why I gave them a red thumb since the note is private as well.
