I feel like players are 'competing' for some certain good cards, so I try to play as fast as possible during the deck phase so I don't need to feel bad about others stealing my good cards just because my network is not fast enough...

Good news, they can't do that. Just like in real life, the initial 5 cards you are given are secret and reserved for you until you discard them. So you can think about them for a minute if you need to.

But unless you also reserve 5 potential redraw cards, that DOES mean you potentially need to be quick to get better cards from the redraw? (Assuming that the deck will be worse on average after the reshuffle)

Yes, but you must enable the "solo challenge mode" option. This does not guarantee you will see those card(s), but it gives a chance of it happening.

Oh, that makes sense. I always start the room with just 1 player instead of activating the solo mode. Makes so much more sense. Excited to try those out. Thank you so much.

No, Robot cards are divided into starter (S), harder (R), and hardest (SOLO, 1-player only games). The rules talk about how they are mixed into the options based on difficulty.

Note that Robogram is potentially meaner than Hologram, since it gives you a card from Level A.

I'm no expert statistician, but I wouldn't make an assumption about the deck quality. There is no guarantee the good cards are at the top. Maybe the good cards were at the bottom, and waiting to draw helped me one game! In theory it shouldn't matter.

It often matters if the deck has been shuffled because you may know that a card you previously discarded is one that you now want. I.e. waiting to redraw until after the deck shuffles would be beneficial. I can imagine a metagame arising from waiting to see if other players are redrawing before you do and that seems to me like it would be a net negative on the playing experience. So yeah maybe we shouldn't know when the deck reshuffles

If they were at the bottom of the deck, other players cannot do this -- they would just see 5-10 cards from the top, and pick the best from those. Discarded cards are placed in a discard pile, so before reshuffle, they will not be affecting anything.

And as another player said, it would be a very bad play experience if everyone started trying to wait around and see who hasn't discarded yet, who has drawn again, whether the deck has shuffled so you have a slight chance of getting another duplicate, etc.
