I too detest this map. Every time I play against a decent player they run away with the game.

The Advanced options do not seem to prevent this from happening. I have selected 'never want to play with map 3' and yet i still get matched in games with it. I posted about this before and the option does not seem to do what i thought it would

I already explained several times what this option is doing.

That's not an official variant so nope unless you get an official green light from publisher.

Well, this map is way overpowered.
I do not remember winning single game vs this map.
Early money is decent, fast upgrade to build and you're done.
Fast enclosures, whatever size you like, not minding cost is a huge win.

And then comes association action "Repeat turn", at no cost (opposite to Eagles and Sun Bear).

Playing against this map with decent player is insta loose.

I started to concede games against these map, since at mid game I'm loosing 60 to 20 points.

Please, do something.
You have your big data for sure it shows this map winning percentage is far more than any other.

Yes, the silver lake is a strong map, but I do not think that it is overpowered.
It rather is most easy to play compared to other maps!
Other maps can be as strong as the silver lake with an according strategy

Most of the times the people complaining are not very good at the game. They are still entitled to have an opinion.
But sometimes it might not be the maps fault that you are losing by a large margin. Or only partially.

Is it unfair that someone has a better map? Yes.
But the same can be said about the goal cards you draw at the beginning of the game. Or who gets to go first. Or which cards you initially have. Or ...

There is luck in the game, deal with it, get better, don't whine. Accept the challenge that you might have a disadvantage. Or select the option that all players get the same map.

Until recently my opinion on Silver Lake was that it was a broken map. Nowadays I think it is just a top-tier-borderline-broken map. There are other S-tier maps that can hold their ground and are serious contenders against Silver Lake, like Outdoor Areas (IMO the best map in a lot of situations) and Ice Cream Parlors (some ppl dislike this map but it has a huge early snowball potential due to massive income). Silver Lake needs a little time to set up and get the engine running, so If one can create a huge income and animals lead over them by the time they have 3 workers to use Determination effectively it may be too late

I also think Silver Lake is very useful when playing with friends with different skill levels. The most inexperienced player can play with Silver Lake while the experienced players can play other maps, it will be a good game for the newbie, since with Silver Lake is so much easier to build and play big animals early due to the money boost, and getting more card upgrades due to the +2 reputation. It can be a very nice handicap tool

Even when playing with strangers, most inexperienced players dislike playing Silver Lake because it is a very boring map, so if you play with someone with more ELO than you it is almost guaranteed they will not play Silver Lake
