The problem may occur when being on a different tab. This just happened to me. It alerted me to tell me i was being minus points but not that my game had actually started. I was here waiting for it. Considering that the arena scoring system is already bad this isn't good. When someone's found and I'm on the confirmation screen, the tab title changes to spinning triangles as a way to say "I need attention" and I usually notice that, but when it loads in immediately, these triangles don't display and boom, -20 karma.
