Since they developed this online version, I believe there will be a final version online here as well, one day. Or on their own website. Otherwise I don’t see why putting effort on developing this.

I'm never surprised anymore by people's decisions, sometimes because it turns out they know something I don't, and sometimes because it turns out they don't know something I do. Hoping to hear from the site or game designer or someone else in the know about this.

Marketing.

This is a nice, easy way to distribute/host a lot of demos, just as their Kickstarter campaign begins. If they support the game on BGA after the release, it will probably be just the 6 demo decks they are giving us now.

Guys, the demo decks you are using in this BGA version are available for free in the official website of Altered.

We don't know for sure if the bga version will come back one day. But they gave us the opportunity to try the game before the kickstarter launch.

They don't need testers or more data on the demo decks, they worked on this game for years.

It's funny. The actual game is pretty neat. Some unusual ideas, some charm, could be fun. But this marketing blurb makes it seem like Generic: the Card Game. There's nothing indicating how the game plays or what makes it different. It's just an assault of buzzwords.

Quite true. Hence the surprise about closing the digital version in BGA.
Why are they fine with people playing the physical starter decks for free as print an play but not so in this digital adaptation after February 5th?
Also, there is an unofficial digital version to play Altered plus 3 versions for a well know generic board game digital platform. Which Equinox themselves list at the Kickstarter.
Why are they fine with such unofficial versions with no mention about forcing a future close but they are closing the one in BGA?
BGA is an official partner of Equinox, like Carta Mundi and others listed at the Kickstarter.
I would expect an official partner to be favoured over unofficial efforts by fans, but alas, that is not so. There must be some marketing reason for that which I can't grasp. Maybe that is why they run such a successful Kickstarter and I do not.

I'm in the same camp. Don't want to to learn a game only to not be able to play in a few days.

It's all very strange to me. Why have digital ownership of the cards and then have no way to play with them online? If I played on BGA and liked it, and knew I'd have digital ownership which means I could play online AND in person with my collection... that would be amazing. I'd back it at least at the $149 level.

But try it online, and then buy something I can only play in person... but I still have manage a bunch of stuff online, even though I can't play there? What?

Since this is a game that relies on buying more boosters, and it seems they have created a digital eco system for the cards I'm hoping they will support the online BGA version and allow buyers of the game to activate the cards they have purchased on BGA.
