I've played many games so far and never had any of the problems mentioned. I think OP has a problem with his computer.

It is very slow for me in the later generations. It will load 70-80% of the way then hang for a minute or two. Going away from the tab in my PC browser and coming back doesn't seem to help, as it will be at the same percentage as when I switched away.

The progress bar very often stops and i have to press F5/refresh so the game goes on. Annoying but no need to wait.

Turning off animations has been a gamechanger for me, anyone who experiences lag should consider the same.

I've played the Steam/Android/iOS app for Terraforming Mars many times and find the BGA version to be better in almost every way. The BGA version is much faster, less buggy and the interface is more usable. The only edge that the other version has is that it has some expansions: Prelude, Venus and more maps.
I especially like that the BGA version maintains a table of the scores which makes the game quite exciting and competitive. The other version explicitly refused to implement this and so players have to improvise their own spreadsheet to track progress.

This has made a huge difference for me.

If you benchmark relative to the mobile app, I'd estimate this implementation as blazingly fast and extremely reliable.
The developers are awesome.
That said, when playing in an area with poor internet, I did need to reload a few times over the course of a long 'high growth' game.
Worked well though.

Hello people have mentions turning off animations in the game . How can this be done I dont see in the TF Advanced options or in my account options pre game .
Is this an In game option somewhere ?

I also alpha tested this game implementation and while it has come along way, I can not comprehend why this version was allowed to go live yet. There is still so much to be done and a few very big bugs, like the asteroid and algae interaction. also the card setup is less than optimum and has actually become worse. No alpha players I have spoken to thought that this game was ready to go live yet.
