There's a reason why this isn't implemented in the base game. stupid idea
Good idea! But I dont know how ^)Mukulf wrote: ↑22 April 2024, 10:06I think we need to take this matter directly to the designer!BattleDreameR wrote: ↑20 April 2024, 21:35Maybe you are right. Technically its homerule. But its not a tipical homerule. Its a logic step that follows from rules of this game. I think author just troll players when did not prescribe start draft![]()
There cant be no good reason. Draft = balance, no draft = bad balance. Thats a fact not opinion. All advanced players know that. Start this game with 2 bad corps and 10 bad cards - how can it be a nice idea? Draft litteraly kills that problem. Its still will be a serious factor of luck (first picks, players turns) but not so huge.
Interesting, thanks. But here he does not argue with the fact that the starting draft works in favor of balance and reduces the luck factor. And that's exactly what I'm talking about. The rest (the format of the game) is a taste question. That's why I don't see any problem having this function as a separate option. Besides, we are all human and we all make mistakes. Moreover, those who create something complex, multi-layered and serious (like Mars) can make mistakes. The author of the game is not an icon. From the point of view of elementary logic, it is obvious that having a draft of 4 cards between rounds and not having a draft of the starting 10 cards is extravagant and, at least, questionable. The princip and the meaning are the same. Then you can play without a draft at all. Or, since there is a draft between rounds, play with the starting draft. This is logic.ErikLevin wrote: ↑24 April 2024, 18:50 Jacob Fryxelius (the designer) is aware of this variant rule/idea and has commented on why it is not part of the game rules. https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/257856 ... 9#36734549
Sounds like exactly why this won't happen, slippery slope of a million house rules people want.
