With symmetric rules 7 production round 2 is easily achievable and with some luck 11 production in on the cards.

We do play this version every now and then. You try to draft cards with good production like Underground City, Underwater City, Giant Dam, Recycling Plant, Nuclear Plant etc. and some discards for building the cards and you should have enough to place some krystallium on the cards + your discards to get your production going. It is obviously a much slower start and people who don't have a good starting production card will definitely struggle to get back on track easily.
I like the challenge. We do ban a couple of cards from the expansion when we play it however (Krystallium Power Plant/Mining Asteroid) cause they would make that player just snowball out of control.

From playing around with it I think 6 krystallium makes for a better game. Or possibly 1W 1Bk prod + 4 Krystallium.
