Why would a game not support BGA colour options compatibility though? Is it not a prerequisite to get published here? I mean, BGA doesn't have all the main colours, like Indigo or Brown for example, but for the majority of games the current list should be matched with just 1 option, regardless.
Some games have rules regarding player colors (for example, Chess, Go, Terra Mystica, and etc.).
For others, ask the developer.
Presumably for the 2p games, even those could have a preselected option to customize color on the user side - CSS style, keeping the basic as they are on the server side, for premium users.

As someone else points out, BGA does show player names in the colour that they are. I don't ever think of " the blue player" - I look at whose name is in blue and think, "oh, ufm took the spot I wanted, bummer". But if there was a strong consensus that players would find that more confusing, then sure, whatever. It's just a suggestion.
In any case, I suspect there are many (most) suggestions that are unlikely to get accepted (anything around tournaments for example), but I would still say there is a purpose in voting for them if you approve of the idea.

That's why I specifically mentioned for the 2p games. You ignoring the part, where casual conversation would look like:

Also the forum lacks strikethrough

You're forgetting spectators and replays as well.

Don't think so - the change wouldn't effect record on the server for the replays. As for spectators - any non-participant who comments the ongoing game deserves the rt/eject. Post game it doesn't matter, as any discrepancy could be explained and replays remain unaffected regardless.
