xihan_0518 recently beat me in the arena with a very solid 195 score by using Faroe. They only covered the 1 income as well as the pelt, flax and milk bonuses and most of the -1 squares. So I take it all back and I'm a Faroe believer now.
Edit: I just got 202 in the arena with Faroe with the same set up as above (still lost but alas). It's a good island, the flax and pelt bonus combine really well
