My guess is that without Weather module, the chances of falling on the special case is less probable or maybe even impossible. It could be a reason to disable Weather in a competition.

What I struggle to understand with what is written there is why Gas Pedal 4 then works the way it does on BGA under the rules written there.

are the key quotes. But Gas Pedal 4 does not appear to operate under this framework on BGA, I mean maybe it's something I should take there, but it will be relevant to WSBG too as Gas Pedal 4 generally is the most controversial rules card.

On the face of it you can do exactly what the 2nd quote says is forbidden on BGA with Gas Pedal 4. And you can also do what the 1st quote says you cannot do. You are able to play Gas Pedal 4 with let's say 0 heat in engine via Direct Play, cooldown a heat from hand, then use that heat to boost (with no free boost from weather), and then say oh I can't pay for my Gas Pedal 4 and have it then mimic a stress, which in effect gives you 2 boosts.

When brought up before it was said this was how it's meant to work from Days of Wonder, but with the framework from that thread, it seems to be directly violating multiple points laid out, so what is it that I'm missing for it work the way it is currently implemented?

I agree with many of these points (especially weather adding variability and fun to the game). I personally was hoping WSBG would choose to include weather and NOT garage as garage can make things more spikey for players compared to regular rules...albeit, garage mods are fun too. Based on other games, WSBG does not usually include mods/expansions so I have been playing non arena Heat without any weather nor mods. I prefer arena for the competitive / ranking nature it adds so that is why I would love to see bga arena as close to WSBG as possible. If not, I can play it non-arena, but would love to play within a ranking system (which yes needs work, but it is a ranking system nontheless )

Other than the draft, it can be fairly close. What is this "vote" that you mention...I'm still learning about the community and thankful we have bga and like minded players! This site is one of the best finds I had this past year

The users who play the most of a game become "gurus" for that game. The settings for Arena are picked by them using voting process. (Gurus, make suggestions, everyone can up/downvote them, top suggestions gets into a run off vs the current settings).

The wsbg is in September, so it would be the perfect quarter to do it. July, August, and September

Except players are voting on next Arena season right now given it starts on Tuesday, and we can't vote for something that doesn't exist, the draft isn't implemented here. If the draft gets implemented here, it's certain to win the next Arena vote imo, but that won't be until next season at the earliest.

I think it's unlikely the exact WSBG rules would win the Arena vote, because I cannot see weather disabled being a popular option. Most of the voters are not going to attend WSBG, so have no real incentive to vote for something purely because it mimics WSBG.
