I never encounter a problem like that because I have validated the Option to confirm my play to be sure, it is what I want that is played.
Once the "Confirm route claim" option is "Enabled" (for all device), it is taken in account for all your current and future TTR Europe games and then you will be asked for confirmation when building a route (or a station / same option).
To play at TTR, first you have to choose in your hand the color to be used to build the route or station.
Second, to place the route or station, I zoom with my 2 fingers on my mobile or tablet under Android to see well where I want to place this route/station and then click on the route or on the city (to have a station on it).
