Many publishers don't look a gift horse from voluntary devs in the mouth, if the implementation is acceptable enough.
However, some publishers want to maintain quality standards, especially when they hire freelancers.
Also, plenty of publishers intentionally exclude expansions and/or variants even if the developers are willing to add them.

Anyway, no more thread derailing. This whole 'all losers' stuff has been rejected every time and it will not be changed. Period.

Can we please try a different approach altogether?

Why not allow players to have more control over the speed requirements?

Some players clearly enjoy taking enough time before throwing their cards to review every book played previously.

But many of us consider that cheating.

Yet we have no way to indicate which version we want to play, or to enforce table wishes.

It is very frustrating.

I like to at least be able to see and mentally process the cards played. At the blazing pace of the game, I can barely do so. And, I like to see my receives passed cards and strategize for a moment before it's suddenly the last card of trick 2 because I was passed the 2 of clubs, which auto-played,
was taken by the player to my left, who then immediately led a card to me in 4th seat.

What you like isn't in opposition to what I'm asking for.

I'm asking that people be allowed to set their own speed preferences.

There's so little variation in the choices now that the only folks who seem to care are people whose connections are poor (who need slower games) and people like me whose attention span is poor (who need faster games).
