Yes, it is unsportsmanlike: during the last few turns, and
especially during the last turn. You both invested time to compete, and leaving at the very end does not realistically "save time". It ruins the stats and replay, and deprives the opponent an opportunity to view/learn/appreciate the game that just happened. Therefore, I view it as a very selfish move.
However, I believe it is okay to concede if the margin is large
and their engine is cooking
and any conceivable chance to comeback is gone. And even then, it is polite to ask or notify. If you're getting beat that badly, there's likely not much time left as it is.
If you expect others to ask for permission to concede, your position is based on domination, and not sportsmanship. News flash, you do not own your opponent, and it is always good sportsmanship for them to concede, and bad sportsmanship to sulk and rage about it messing up your stats.

No one owes any other person anything. If they want to concede, that's up to them. A win is a win. If they concede i take it as I completely stomped them and that's plenty enough of euphoria for me. Likewise when I concede, I'm accepting the fact I got stomped on. I think it's a great time saver for everyone.

I'd even make the suggestion to decrease concede time to 25% for Ark Nova. You can easily determine if you lost at 25% of the game due to a very strong opening play by the opponent or your own misplay. Early game tempo is so important in this game.

The precent time meter actually means nothing. It’s hard to fathom why it is even there. But it doesn’t really mean you’ve played 25 or 50% of any given game. There’s been a lot of complaints in the forum about this

Isn't it a percentage of the points you need to go into final round? (around 90/2 =45)

If you play a lot of Ark Nova games then you can see when you're about to lose or to win. I don't care about stats in usual non arena games because I can't make it past elo 300 steadily, only sporadically.
Sometimes I might concede at the end when opponent tries to sqeeze 1 more point constantly redoing their turn and I'm just want to finish the game.

I don't see it as poor form, in fact I see it as accepted practice. Look at chess, the big professional board game. People concede before checkmate all the time and it is viewed simply as a way to graciously accept that your position is lost.

I personally find it very annoying when I've planned out a great last turn, which is so important in Ark Nova, and then don't get the reward of seeing it play out. I get that high ELO players want to just go for getting more points, but it feels like it undermines the enjoyment of the game for me. I wish that there was a function where you cannot concede in the last 10% of the game to avoid people ending the game in the very late stage when it's clear they won't win.
That being said, I don't think it's poor sportsmanship, and more just a preference about enjoying each individual game versus gaming the experiance of earning ELO. It's why I often choose not to play with higher ELO players. I honestly, don't care about losing, but want to play each game as an enjoyable experiance.
