Quoted for truth. Saying you get three minutes per turn is pure hyperbole. Taking 3 minutes for even one turn puts you in the negative.

Now they know it is 1 minute per turn, I guess there is nothing stopping them getting their premium account now.
Phew.

Careful now. It’s only 59* seconds (or 37* seconds at the fast setting) so the OP might still hold out on reinstating their premium account until it’s properly set to the full 60 seconds.

* average turn time setting

I would say, please vote for the second proposal, it's much more interesting.

The problem is that BGA only has one turn time setting per game. If the initial set-up turn has a lot of options and decisions, like in Wingspan or Terraforming Mars, players need more time for that turn. Say 3 minutes. So a turn time of 1 minute is way too fast. Later turns should not take as long, but since there is only one turn time… we're stuck with 3 minutes.

So if we could have more time in the beginning of a game, but less time as it progresses — that sounds good!
The problem is that most games do not have a clock associated w/ them and as mentioned bga just has one standard clock that they assigned to all games. You mentioned games in which you may need less time towards the end but then there are games in which it is the reverse (see all the ark nova threads on this). There are games like via magica in which you may want to think 1 min at the start of the game and after that the remaining actions are almost auto. If anyone has any idea how times are being decided for games please share that info because via magica has a 2m bank w/ 20s per move on the fastest setting. It is a bingo style game and that clearly makes no sense. Not only that game but I discovered tons of games in which the time settings even on fastest make no sense.

The above thread was moderated because the user called a player out by name but they expressed how a player told them they would use every second of the clock for whatever reason. I've found that in several games even when set to the fastest setting that if a player wanted to they can use more time single handedly than what is the average game duration for all players at a game (some games up to 4x more) and still not exceed their time limit. Luckily there isn't an abundance of players using this tactic because if there was the quality of real time games would definitely be diminished.
