I had some issues on Sunday December 15th around 15:00 CST while playing in Illinois USA. My friends joined from California USA at the same time and had no issues. We just tried to play again today at 18:00 CST and I could access from Illinois but they couldn't access from California.
Both times we just got white screens when trying to access boardgamearena.com.

Right now (about 19:30 CST), I can confirm something similar.

A friend in California cannot load BGA, but I can on the east coast US. It seems regional, almost like routing?

My home cable internet won't connect but my cell phone does.
And when I tether my laptop to cell phone data it works too.

I have the same issue this evening. My home wifi (ISP Bell Canada - I’m in Ontario, Canada) can’t connect, but my cellphone can.

Currently having this issue in California. Happening for about 2 hours.

Chrome says:
This page isn’t working
boardgamearena.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

PS: We're using Ting which I think is on Verizon, and I can connect when I tether.

I can't connect with my home WiFi (through Sonic Fiber) or my Cell phone hotspot (Verizon), but I can with my partner's cell phone hot spot (Mint Mobile). But I can connect to other internet sites just fine (zoom, FB, GMail, etc.).

It also doesn't seem to matter if I connect via VPN or use a Private/Incognito mode on a browser, or clear all the cached data on my browser. So it's very confusing. Also DNS (via nslookup) is working and resolving correctly for en.boardgamearena.com

A friend that we've played with for years with BGA lives in Japan and the rest of us are in North America (different locations).

He had no ability to reach - no site found - as of 14 hours ago.

His comments were: "Interesting. I cannot reach their servers. It is not my machine, as I have tried from two different computers here at home as well as my phone. I thought it might be my internet connection, so I logged in remotely to a server at my office and also get the same result. My office internet is a different ISP than home."

He and I are both senior software developers.

Whatever it was has been righted as of 7 hours ago.

Could be anything, but thought I should add my 0.02.

With the amount of activity by bad actors, that's always a possibility. It could be a change in some router along the way (esp at borders) that could be screwed up for a period so that's another possibility.

Boardgamearea.com would not load on PC or iPAD the evening of Wednesday Dec 18, Collingwood, ON, Canada… I tried over several hours, internet was solid.

HEY EVERYONE! GOOD NEWS for those doing turn-based games....

I figured out that I could access the games themselves, but not the "Games in Progress" webpage. So as long as I just went from one game to another, I could still play the games that were already started. Just look up one of the games in your browser history, and go from there.

Great tip! Thanks!
