Yeah dda is completely another story.
You should try to anticipate it, and never goes to that situation.
With good players, you clue the first one, and everyone should assume dda if there was no better option in their pov.
But your convention doesn't resolve that problem, you still will find cases where even if th'e focus is on the chop, that player should assume this can't be a save. And so either he assumes a potential dda, or he bomb.
With hgroup, you got something fun, it's the responsibility of the second discarded instead of the player before both players. So you aren't allowed to discard if your previous player discarded a card with exactly two copies, if you could hold that card in your chop (sometimes you got negatives). If you still discard, that mean you are seeing the other copy, and so one other player can deduce they got that card on their hand.
