Your Karma rating system is inefficient. Do you know STATISTICS and how it works? The sum of bad game sessions divide by the sum of good game sessions and multiply the quotient for 100. Congrads! Now you have percentage of bad game sessions. Then subtract the result from 100%. That's REAL karma. You can have 100 or 1000 good game sessions and 3 bad sessions no matter of reason and you have bad reputation.
THAT'S INSANE that your mistake coust 10 or 20 points of Karma, but you gain just 1 Karma point for each game!
Is the goal of the BGA to avoid of appearence of new players? Tutorials not so good, and rules as well. You have to play some games to understand. The main thing sometimes to understand why the button in the game doesn't work. And you try to remember what's going wrong, cus there's no any hints for newie if you're going wrong. You can loose your carma for a day and gain it for weeks. Make a tumbler for PROs "play only with PROs" for ppl who live in these games and that's it. No complains from PROs anymore.

If someone is regularly running over time on their turns and going to deep into the red but the other players would rather finish the game than abandon it, that doesn't mean they weren't negatively impacted by the player who was going over time.
Slightly off topic from the OP, but I'll bite anyway :) I disagree - if I'm playing a game with an opponent who has told me they've got an issue (or I've got reason to believe that they're not the sort to just abandon the game), I don't want the site to assume I'd claim a partial win rather than wait patiently for them to return so we can finish the game. (Examples: they get a phone call, someone at front door, someone in their household needs them for a few minutes.) Yes, there's always the option to switch to turn-based, but some games just aren''t that enjoyable playing turn-based.

I think you may have misinterpreted Cole's post. They were not saying that games where someone goes into the red should be ended, just that the user should get a karma penalty.

I totally agree. At the moment someone can have 100% reputation even if they go over time in every game they play because you only lose karma when someone kicks you.

Simple solution. Stop caring about your Karma. It's not worth anything and not worth worrying about. Just play the games you like and have fun.

Karma is relevant because tables can be restricted by Karma.
