Yeah, fair points.

One could only wonder what would have happened to the game if Stars would have picked it up years ago when they were still dominant or if the WSOP had picked it up back then.

One thing is sure: it is very unlikely we will see it happen in the current climate of online poker. GGPoker is dominating the market and they dont care at all about anything else than holdem.

Luckily the game isnt fully dead though, and still perfect to be played with friends (or in some mixed game festivals obviously)

Speaking of which: to show the game is not fully dead, a friend has sent me a picture when playing a series in Tallinn showing over 100 entries in a 350€ ofc mtt with 70+ unique players! And these MTTs contain a LOT of inexperienced players who just love the game. https://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event. ... &n=1165303

Oh, wow. I would love to have played in that!

For years (after playing 100k+ hands on "fun" apps, I kept telling my friends, "if ever there is a chance to play this for real money, watch out".

I did notice over the years that other countries seemed to have more action for this game than in my home country (USA).

I still like playing the mini tournaments on the "Pineapple" app (not sure that's exactly what it's called, but that's how it's labeled on my devices), but they start with so few chips, and the "heat" algorithm is rather mysterious and indecipherable.

Since I often play live with friends, and this is basically the only game I play here to further reinforce my habits and strategies (of course always with a fair amount of luck), I decided to take a shot at this year’s Kings of Tallinn and see how it translates into real tournament play;)
